2012考研进入冲刺阶段，提高复习效率很重要，考研英语复习方面每天要用规范的英语句子练习。句子冗长是考生在写作时最容易出现的毛病。有的考生错误地认为，句子越长，就越显示出自己的英语水平高超。这是造成句子冗长的原因之一。另一个原因是受汉语的影响，有的考生在造句时，头脑中首先出现的是汉语句子，然后再翻译成英语，这不可避免地形成了汉语式的赘述。

　　明确了以上两个原因之后，考生应时刻力求句子的简练和表达的清晰，删除多余无关的词语，有意识地克服一味追求长句的弊病，学会灵活变换句式。同时还应当克服汉语的影响，不要用硬译的方法来组合语句，逐渐养成用英语进行思维的习惯。

　　误：In my opinion, I think the picture is very meaningful.(这里的In my opinion和I think是同义的，是不必要的重复。)

　　正：In my opinion, the picture is very meaningful. 或者I think the picture is very meaningful.

　　误：The distant explosion was audible to the ear. (audible意为“可听见的，听得见的”，to the ear是多余的词语，应该删掉。)

　　误：There are four companies in Shanghai, and any of them can supply us with spare parts. (此句可简化成 Any of the four companies in Shanghai can supply spare parts.)

　　另：The bottle that are placed on the shelf contain some chemicals that have been newly discovered. 此句可简化为：The bottle on the shelf contain some new chemicals.

　　Mr. Li, who is my favorite professor, has received a Distinguished Teacher Award. 此句可简化为：Mr. Li, my favorite professor, has received a Distinguished Teacher Award.

　　另外，汉语表达习惯也是造成表达臃肿的原因。比如，在汉语中，我们常说：“压倒多数”、“适当调整”、“基本完成”、“坚决禁止” 、“加快改革的步伐”等，但如果用下列英语表达这些概念就显得多余了：“overwhelming majority”、“appropriate readjustment”、“basically accomplish”、“firmly forbid”、“accelerate the pace of reform”。“majority”指的肯定是绝大多数;“readjustment”肯定要适当;“基本完成”中的“基本”是汉语中的谦辞;“forbid”本身就包含坚决禁止的含义;“accelerate the pace of reform”中的pace多余，可以简化成“accelerate the reform”。
