　　在中文里，我们习惯将这些动作归在一个“看”上。而在英语中，则大致分为了3个单词：

　　see, look, watch

　　它们笼统的意思都是“看”，而且有时可以互换。但从核心意思上来说，各自却有很大的不同。比如see强调感官上的视觉，look和watch强调查看的动作，同时它们两个词查看的对象又不同。这一切，该如何理解呢?

　　1. See (saw, seen)

　　See is a verb of perception, it is a sense. It is automatic and doesn't require a decision to use this sense. It is associated with things that we can't avoid.

　　Examples:

　　1. Let’s go to see the movie “Batman”.

　　2. Have seen Robert today?

　　3. I can see the mountains in the distance.

　　4. Can you see the whiteboard from your seat?

　　Other meanings:

　　see-saw 跷跷板

　　I see 我明白了

　　let me see 让我想想 / 让我看

　　2. Look (looked, looked)

　　Look and Watch are action verbs that require a decision for you to use them. They never happen automatically.

　　Look is used to suggest a direction for your eyes. Usually we use this verb when the things we look at doesn't move.

　　Look - camera, prices, mirror, sky.

　　Examples:

　　1. Look at the map to find where we are.

　　2. Don't look at him for the answer - I asked you!

　　3. Look at this picture.

　　4. I like to look at the stars at night.

　　Other meanings:

　　look for 搜寻

　　have a look 看一眼

　　look out 小心

　　3. Watch (watched, watched)

　　Watch is when we talk about concentrating on something, like a movie or sports. Using watch suggests there is a movement involved, so you can use that for TV or movies.

　　Watch - a movie, a TV program, a football match.

　　Examples:

　　1. I love to watch Grey's Anatomy on Monday night.

　　2. My husband watches the replays of the football on the weekend.

　　3. I like to sit on the verandah and watch people walk by.

　　4. I watch Friends everyday on TV.

　　Other meanings:

　　watch your back 小心被人暗算

　　watch your step 小心脚下

　　watch carefully 注意观察
