    The Turkish prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said he would work with Russia to easetensions after the shooting down of Russian planes on Tuesday. Mr Davutoglu insisted theincident was not an act against this pacific country rather Turkey protecting its territory.Spaeking earlier,the Russian president Vladimir Putin said it was nonsense to suggest thatTurkey didn't know the plane was Russian. Mr.Putin also said he did agree to step upcooperation with France to target IS in Syria as Steve Rosenberg reports. Russia and Francehave agreed to cooperate more closely in fighting terrorism in Syria. The two countries willexchange intelligence on Islamic State and coordinate air strikes. But differences remain overthe fate of the Syrian leader. President Hollande made it clear that president Assad could playno role in Syria's future. President Putin said that was up to the Syrian people to decide. Andthere is no sign of the kind of grand coalition against terror that France has been calling for,one would include America.

　　Two prominent Turkish newspaper journalists have been arrested and accused of spying andassisting militant groups. The editor-in-chief and correspondent of the Daily newspaper weredetained after publishing footage, apparently showing the state intelligence agency sendingweapons to Islamist rebels in Syria.

　　France would hold a national memorial service in a few hours for the 130 people killed in theParis attacks two weeks ago. President Francis Hollande will lead a solemn ceremony which willbe attended by 1000 people including survivors of the attacks and families of many of thosekilled. At the service today, president Hollande will address theirfamilies as France begins the task of living with this new kind of threat. He has asked citizensacross the country to hang the national flag from their homes and offices by way of homage.But there has been criticism of his government too. 　　The Roman Catholic Church in El Salvador has suspended a well-known priest for sexuallyabusing a young girl. The church said Mt.Senior Jesus Delgado abused the girl over an eight-year period during the 1980s. Our America's editor Leonardo Rocha has more. Theannouncement on Thursday morning came as a surprise to most people in the predominantlyCatholic Central American nation where father Jesus Delgadois a respected figure. He was aclose friend and biographer of Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero who became a national heroafter being killed by a right wing death squad in the beginning of El Salvador's brutal civil war.Father Delgado sexually abused the girl from the age of 9 until she was 17. In a statement thechurch said he was willing to meet the woman who is now 42 and ask for forgiveness.
