英语单词几乎是天天必背的，但一定要有计划性，有的人常常用整段的时间如整个上午来背单词，有时候又一天都不翻一下单词书，这是不可取的。2016考研的同学最好制定一个计划，多少天背完一遍，每天背多少个，每天什么时候背，规划地清清楚楚，效率也会高很多。

　　【同义替换】top, exceed, transcend

　　★ mute

　　a.哑的，缄默的

　　n.哑巴

　　v.减弱……的声音

　　【例1】People won’t talk with those who stay mute all the time.人们不会和那些一直保持沉默的人交谈。

　　【例2】He muted the strings with his palm.他用手掌抹琴弦消音。

　　【同义替换】silent, dumb

　　n.营养，营养品

　　【例】Growing children should absorb nutrition to strengthen physical function and promote metabolism.儿童生长期应注意摄入营养，这样能使他们增强身体机能，促进新陈代谢。

　　n.对立，敌手

　　a.对立的，对抗的

　　【例】She capitalized on her opponent’s mistake and won the game.她利用了她对手的失误赢得了比赛。

　　【构词】op-(相反)+pon(位置)+-ent(人)→立场不同的人→对手，敌手

　　【同义替换】comparative; rival, match

　　★ positive

　　a.肯定的，积极的，正的

　　【例1】It is time to take a positive step to break the vicious circle.是采取积极措施打击这个犯罪团伙的时候了。

　　【例2】I am afraid I can not be positive about the time when the car exploded.我恐怕无法肯定汽车爆炸的时间。

　　【构词】posit(放，放置)+-ive→放在心上的→积极的，正面的

　　【同义替换】active, practical, actual, effective, sincere

　　【真题】What was less visible then, however, were the new, positive forces that work against the digital divide.然而，一些新的可以防止这种信息差距出现的积极因素在当时并不如现在这样明显。
