考研英语阅读的文章篇幅较长，又多见长难句，很多同学会有这样的感觉：读了后句忘前句，很难对文章的中心重点内容有一个清晰的把握!这背后的原因就在于同学们不太了解连词的作用，从而分不清句间关系，孰重孰轻。今天文都教研老师就要给2016考研的同学总结一下考研英语阅读中连词的作用!连词可以分为以下几类：

　　一、表示语义引申的并列连词：and、neither... nor、both... and、not only... but also、as well as、or、either... or等。

　　【例句】Not only are you funny，but also you are witty.你不仅风趣而且机智。

　　二、表示转折或对比的并列连词：but、yet、however、nevertheless等。

　　【例句】I have failed，yet I shall try again.我虽然失败了，但我还要试一试。

　　三、表示因果关系的并列连词有：for、so、because、as、since、now that、considering (that)、seeing that、therefore、hence 等。

　　【例句】We believe that he will succeed，for he has talent.我们相信他会成功的，因为他有才华。

　　四、引导时间状语从句的从属连词有：when、while、as、after、before、since、until (till)、as soon as、once等。

　　【例句】There was prolonged applause when he began to speak. 他开始讲话时响起了经久不息的掌声。

　　五、引导条件状语从句的从属连词有：if、even if、unless、in case、provided /providing (that)、suppose/supposing (that)、as (so) long as、consequently、on condition (that)等

　　【例句】He overslept and，consequently he was late.他睡过了头，迟到了。

　　六、引导让步状语从句的从属连词有：although / though、even if (though)等

　　【例句】Everybody worked with great enthusiasm although/though the weather was extremely cold. 虽然天气很冷，大家工作得非常起劲

　　七、引导比较状语从句的从属连词有：than、as (so)...as等。

　　【例句】We have produced 20% more cotton this year than we did last year. 我们今年棉花产量比去年高百分之二十。

　　八、引导目的状语从句的从属连词有：lest、so that、in order that等。

　　【例句】He assigned us some books to read at home in order that (so that) we might have a deeper understanding of the subject. 他指定几本书给我们回家看，以便我们对这一主题有一个较深的了解

　　九、引导结果状语从句的从属连词有：so...that、such...that等。

　　【例句】She was so moved that tears came to her eyes. 她感动得热泪盈眶。
