很多同学问有关考研英语中长难句倒装的理解和翻译问题，在此，文都网校考研英语辅导老师就大家共有的一些问题进行解析，帮助广大考生掌握倒装句式。考研英语中倒装有两大类，完全倒装和不完全倒装。完全倒装，是指句子的谓语全部提前放在主语前面；不完全倒装，是指谓语的一部分例如助动词或情态动词等提前，放到主语前面。

　　一、 完全倒装

　　1、 方位在句首，主谓完全倒装

　　Here is an example, which I heard at a nurses’ convention, of a story which works well because the audience all shared the same view of doctors. (2002年Text1)

　　这句话的主干是：Here is an exampleof a story. 主语是an example of a story, 谓语是is。由于here位于句首，所以主谓完全倒装。which I heard at a nurses’ convention是an example的非限制性定语从句，which works well because the audience all shared the same view of doctors是嵌套原因状语从句的定语从句，修饰story。

　　参考译文：举个例子，这是我在一次护士代表大会上听到的，这个故事效果很好，因为在场的听众对医生有相同的看法。

　　2、 分词在句首，主谓完全倒装

　　Emerging from the 1980 census is the picture of a nation developing more and more regional competition, as population growth in the Northeast and Midwest reaches a near standstill.(1998年Text4)

　　这句话的主干是：Emerging from the 1980 census is the picture. 主语是the picture，谓语是is emerging，还原语序之后应该是The picture is emerging from the 1980 census. 分词提前，所以主谓完全倒装。 of a nation developing more and more regional competition是介词短语作后置定语，修饰picture，as population growth in the Northeast and Midwest reaches a near standstill是as引导的时间状语从句。

　　参考译文：1980年美国人口普查显示出这样的画面：随着东北部和中西部人口增长近乎停滞，地区间的竞争越来越激烈。

　　二、 不完全倒装

　　考研英语中更常见的是不完全倒装，主要有以下几种情况：

　　1、 强调置于句首，主谓不完全倒装

　　Only gradually was the by-product of the institution noted, and only more gradually was this effect considered as a directive factor in the conduct of the institution. (2009年翻译)

　　这句话是由并列连词and连接的两个倒装句，only提前表强调，谓语部分系动词提前部分倒装，理解时要先把句子调整到正常语序，整句句意是：人们只是逐渐地才注意到机构的这一副产品，人们把这种作用视为机构运作的指导性因素的过程则更为缓慢。

　　2、 否定词置于句首，主谓不完全倒装

　　Television is one of means by which these feelings are created and conveyed---and perhaps never before has it served so much to connect different peoples and nations as in the recent events in Europe.(2005年翻译)

　　这句话的前半部分是正常语序，and后面的部分由于never before前置， 主谓部分倒装，还原成正常语序——and perhaps it has never served so much to connect different peoples and nations，整句话表示：电视是引发和传递这些感受的手段之一——在欧洲近来发生的事务中，把不同的民族和国家连在一起，其作用之大，前所未有。

　　3、 省略if的条件句，主谓部分倒装

　　But had Energy kept its word,that debate would be beside the point.

　　前半句是省略if的虚拟条件句，还原成正常语序是if Energy had kept its words，整句话表示：但是如果Energy能够遵守诺言，那种争议也就毫不相关了。
