考研英语(二)翻译部分要求考生翻译一段话，其中有长句也有短句，分值为15分。很多同学不知道这种翻译题目如何去做，文都考研英语辅导老师在这里以2013年考研英语(二)真题为例，为大家相信讲解一下做题方法。

　　题目：

　　①I can pick a date from the past 53 years and know instantly where I was, what happened in the news and even the day of the week. ②I’ve been able to do this since I was four.

　　③I never feel overwhelmed with the amount of information my brain absorbs. ④My mind seems to be able to cope and the information is stored away neatly. ⑤When I think of a sad memory, I do what everyone does- try to put it to one side. ⑥I don’t think it’s harder for me just because my memory is clearer. ⑦Powerful memory doesn’t make my emotions any more acute or vivid. ⑧I can recall the day my grandfather died and the sadness I felt when we went to the hospital the day before. ⑨I also remember that the musical play Hair opened on the Broadway on the same day- they both just pop into my mind in the same way.

　　解析：以句子为单位逐句分析，先找出主干，通常先译主干后译补充修饰成分。

　　第一句：首先我们可以通过“and”连接两句话以及先行词“where”和“what”看出这是个复合句。整个句子的枝干是：I can pick up a date (from the past 53 years) and know…

　　“where I was, what happened in the news and even the day of the week”是know的三个并列宾语。

　　译文：我可以从之前的53年中任选一天，立刻回想起当时我身处何地、当天的新闻是什么，甚至回想起那天是周几。

　　第二句：较为简单的复杂句。

　　句子主干：I’ve been able to do this

　　“since I was four”是时间状语从句

　　译文：根据汉语习惯，时间放前面：从四岁起，我就具备这种能力。

　　第三句：简单句。overwhelm: v.压倒、压垮、使不知所措

　　译文：我从没因为大脑吸收的信息量过大而感到难以承受。

　　第四句：复合句，包含“and”前后两个并列的简单句。

　　译文：我的大脑似乎可以处理这些信息，并将其有序地储存起来。

　　第五句：复杂句。

　　句子主干： I do...

　　“When I think of a sad memory”是时间状语从句

　　“what everyone does”是”do”的宾语从句

　　破折号后面的”try to put it to one side”是对宾语从句的补充说明，”it”指”a sad memory“

　　When I think of a sad memory, I do what everyone does- try to put it to one side.

　　译文：忆及忧伤过往时，我和其他人一样——尽量将其搁在一边。

　　第六句：复杂句。

　　主句是“I don’t think…”

　　“it’s harder for me”是宾语从句中的主句

　　“because my memory is clearer”是宾语从句中的原因状语从句

　　译文：我并不认为因为我的记忆(比其他人的)更清晰，将忧伤往事搁置就(比其他人)更困难。

　　第七句：简单句

　　强大的记忆力并没有让我的情感体验更鲜活生动。

　　第八句：复杂句

　　主句：I can recall the day… and the sadness…

　　“my grandfather died”是the day的定语从句

　　“I felt”是“the sadness”的定语从句中的主句

　　“when we went to the hospital the day before”是宾语从句”I felt”中的时间状语从句

　　译文：我记得我祖父去世的那天，也记得他去世前一天我们去医院看他时我伤心欲绝。

　　第九句：复杂句

　　主句“I can also remember…”

　　“that the musical play Hair opened on the Broadway on the same day”是”remember”的宾语从句

　　破折号后的“they both just pop into my mind in the same way”是对这句话和上句话的一个说明

　　译文：我也记得当天音乐剧《毛发》在百老汇开演。这两件事以同样的方式浮现在我脑海中。

　　从解析中可以总结出，我们要做好翻译，必须先理清句子的主干和修饰成分，所以文都老师建议大家把英语(二)大纲中要求掌握的语法点熟练掌握——因为这是我们看懂句子的基础。 在翻译时通常先译主干后译枝干，但如果有时间和地点，可以按照中文习惯将时间、地点放在前面。
